Beaver & Tapley - Committed to the Environment
At Beaver and Tapley we care very much about the world we live in, and take
extra care to ensure that all of our materials are sourced in a responsible
manner, not only to give you some of the most elegant modern furniture money can
buy, but also to ensure that you have total piece of mind in knowing that you
furniture has not cost the earth:
 | Beaver & Tapley were the first U.K. manufacturer to stop using acid
based lacquers in 1991, which are difficult to dispose of without
contaminating local water. We now use a water based lacquer which is
carefully controlled to provide minimum environmental impact. |
 | All of our woods are taken from sustained forests from around the world.
Whilst we will not compromise the quality of our product, we will also not
buy timbers from countries where it is not farmed responsibly. |
 | It is a little known fact that veneers themselves are inherently more
environmentally friendly than solid woods. Any waste is effectively recycled
and our board is made of woods that can be grown much more quickly than traditional
hardwoods. |
 | Did you know, that the amount of hardwood that it takes to furnish a
typical living room in solid wood, will furnish approximately ten living
rooms if used as a veneer! |
 | Moreover, veneer will not warp like solid wood and veneers are
more easily selected to ensure the most beautiful grain patterns on
all of our furniture. |
